They have the unique capacity to speak with authority both within the theological academy and the social service community. As the goal of the IFCT is to bridge these two worlds, the following experts are on the front lines of helping clergy of all faiths integrate the protective factors within their houses of worship.

Rev. Dr. G. W. C. Lyons, Jr.

---------------------------------------------

Dr. George W. C. Lyons, Jr. is a fourth generation clergyman. He is a native of Los Angeles where he matriculated through the public school system. He has earned degrees from U.C.L.A. (BA in Political Science), Howard University School of Divinity (M.Div.) and United Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). His dissertation focus was: Preaching & Church Administration
 

Dr. Lyons accepted his "call to ministry" in October of 1990 and was ordained a Baptist minister in 1992. He is a member of the American Baptist Churches, USA and the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. Over his 22+ year ministerial career, he has served congregations in Calfornia, Washington, D.C., Tennessee and Virginia. Currently, he serves as the 12th Pastor of the Historic Gilfield Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. 

 

He and his wife LaCrechia are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters.

DIANNE BROWNE, M.A., Ph.D. (WIDENER UNIVERSITY)

Dr. Dianne Browne is an educator in human sexuality and family relationships, particular within families of African descent. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Human Service Professions at Widener University in Chester, PA. She retired from the NJ State Department of Children and Families where she served as the Director of the Office of Family Support Services. She is a graduate of Widener University, Montclair State University, and Trenton State College. (Human Sexuality/Family Development)

PAT STANISLASKI, BA - NATIONAL CTR. ON CHILD ABUSE

Pat Stanislaski is the founder and director of the Partnering for Prevention, LLC, a consulting firm that provides training on a variety of topics addressing the prevention of child abuse and neglect as well as the importance of community partnerships to address this issue. She also founded and directed the National/International Center for Assault Prevention, an organization the served 26 U.S. states and 14 other countries as teh NJ Child Assault Prevention Project (NJ-CAP), the only child abuse prevention program offered to every school district in the state, a  nationally recognized accomplishment. She is a graduate of Montclair State University (B.A.) and has done post-graduate work in adapted physical education at Monclair State University. (Child Abuse Trainer/Specialist)

The Rev. Tamara Davis is an expert in womanist theology and race relations.  She is the former interim pastor at the Stelton Baptist Church, the second oldest Baptist church in NJ and the tenth oldest Baptist church in the United States, founded in 1689. Maureen Archibald

Ms. Archibald educational background includes a BSW from Howard University, Washington DC and a MSW from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY.  She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She has worked for over 24 years in the field of child welfare.  Her professional career includes working for 3 of the largest foster care and adoption agencies in the city of NY.  She has worked extensively in supervising and direction program for children and families in her various roles and now serves as the Executive Director of Harvest of Hope Family Services Network, Inc.

 

Ms. Archibald is an active participant with the Child Welfare League of America and has lobbied and advocated with local state leaders, the Congress as well as the Senate, for the passing of legislations to benefit children and families (changes to positively impact the lives of children and families.  Her lifelong commitment is to dedicate her work to finding solutions to the plight of children and families who become a part of the child welfare system; finding solutions and advocating for policies to benefit children in need of out-of-home-placements.

DEBORAH MORIAH, D.CHIRO

Deborah Moriah is married to Mr. David Moriah and they are the proud parents of two children. Dr. Moriah is a board certified chiropractor and practices chiropractic medicine in the Greater Mercer County area. In addition to her professional work as a chiropractor, Deborah is also a student at Princeton Theological Seminary where she is working towards the Masters in Divinity (M.Div.) degree. Deborah and her husband are committed Christians, but Deborah strongly claims her Jewish religious and cultural identity. Thus she brings a unique insight to the descriptive phrase, "Judeo-Christianity."

Jane Sweeney is an expert in Domestic Violence, intimate partner violence and effects of domestic violence in the lives of children. She has a distinguished career working in the field in several NJ departments of state and various divisions. In 2010, she retired from the NJ Department of Children and Families where she was the Administrator in charge of the Office of Domestic Violence Services in the Division of (Child Abuse) Prevention and Community Partnerships (DPCP). This office works with community agencies in an effort ot coordinate and consolidate domestic violence serves provided to families and children.

Carol Dortch Wright

Ms. Dortch Wright earned her Bachelors Degree in Science from the NJ City University and a Master's Degree in Strategic Communications & Leadership from the Seton Hall University's South Orange campus.

 

Ms. Dortch Wright has worked in high level executive positions in several NJ governmental state departments. She is the Former Assistant Commissioner of External Affairs and Community Relations for the NJ Department of Human Services and the Former Deputy Director of  Communicatns for the NJ Department of Children & Families. She has also been instrumental in organizational development for her house of worship. She is the former Director of Communications & Public Relations for The Cathedral International Church, a thriving community of faith of 10,000+ members which has three NJ locations!

ROSE HANDON, MSA, Ph.D., LSW

Dr. Rose M. Handon is a native of Columbus, OH and is a licensed social worker and retired human services administrator from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Her public service career spans over 30 years where she worked in direct services and administration on behalf of children and families in her native Ohio. Her professional experiences have included, but not been limited to serving as a local state administrator with oversight of all child welfare programs and policy, Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children, and the adult protective services section.

Dr. Handon earned her doctoral degree from Walden University (Minneapolis, MN) after completing her dissertation topic on ?An Ethnographic Study on Client-Initiated Violence Affecting Child Protection Workers.? Her Master?s of Science in Administration was earned from Central Michigan University (Mt. Pleasant, MI), and her Bachelor?s in Social Work was completed at Capital University (Columbus, OH).

Dr. Handon has played an integral role in providing states with technical assistance and training on "Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964" and the "Multiethnic Placement Act of 1994." She has served as a Grant Peer Reviewer for the several federal agencies such as the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Office for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Handon has served as a field instructor for several universities. She is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of Empowerment Network Circle (ENC), a minority owned coaching, mentoring, and consulting business. In addition, she has presented to various lay groups and faith based organizations on social issues impacting the church and our communities."
